They are Olde English Babydoll (miniature) Southdown Sheep. All are registered with the North American Babydoll Southdown Sheep Registry.

They are tiny, about 24" at the shoulder. They are simple keepers, like to graze, a bit of nice hay and water.
The names: Baby: the tiniest one (black). Laverne and Shirley are white, Laverne is bigger, and Shirley has more of a turned up nose. Sunny is the black one that is "bleaching" into a more of a brown color and Share is her buddy. She is staying black.
Right now they are more interested in seeing if they can nibble a little bit of ALL pasture areas, and love to be let out onto the lawn.
Supposedly the breed does not eat trees and such, but we have caught one or two trying to take a bite of apple tree.
They are sticking together, only Baby sometimes gets left behind when they wander, and she lets us know it. I have to go out and chase her back to the flock.
They were born on May 1st of this year and came to our farm June 21st. from Vacarrella Acres. They will spend the next year or more growing up healthy and happy
Then, in January of 2011 (not 2010 as we originally posted) they will be bred to a yet to be determined registered Ram, and we will be the happy grandparents to little ones sometime in May of that year.
Babydolls usually have twins, so we look forward to a quick increase in our flock. Some of those will be ready for sale that summer.
When they are 1 year old, the “lambs” will become “sheep.”
